Citizen Rights Bureau: The Citizens Rights Bureau is a non-partisan collaborative initiative of like-minded civil society organizations, lawyers and human rights groups committed to build the capacity of citizens to advocate for freedom of expression, promotion of democratic-rights based governance and civil society participation. The Bureau collaborates with NGOs and Law Firms with a history of public interest litigation practice and representing victims of state repression. The Bureau was set up to provide trainings for community leaders and motivators. The nonpartisan trainings is in civic, voter, socio-economic and legal literacy for democratic governance; accountable governance, inclusive and participatory and engendered decision making; election monitoring is another core component of the training program. In addition, the bureau offers voluntary assistance to citizens to access justice wherever rights violations occur in Uganda.
